What's In My Purse?

Hello everybody!

Hello Monday. School starts again and it is a gloomy day. I feel that its going to rain very hard later in the afternoon.

On a brighter note, I decided to do the "What's In My Purse" tag  that has been going on for years now, I think. I don't usually carry a purse when I go out, for example to run errands and things like that, but yesterday I went to a birthday lunch so I decided to carry one along.

My bag is this light gray beige color from Clarks which was gifted.

Blend With The Trend: Polka Dots for Fall

Say goodbye to stripes as polka dot is the new pattern for Fall 2011. This trend is seen all throughout the runway, including Marc Jacobs and Diane Von Furstenberg.

You can wear it anyway you like, be it all over or just an accent to an already beautiful ensemble. I personally like polka dots and wear it whenever I feel like it. Good thing that it is very in mode this fall.

Here are some tips on wearing this trend:

1. Wear it as a shirt/blouse. You can go big or small on the dots depending on what the occasion is or what you personally prefer. For those who are a little skeptical, you can opt for smaller polka dots. The fine dots will also be more appropriate for work or school.

Bag Buzz: Drawstring Bags

Happy Monday!
Hope you are all having a great start of the week. I think I am on a blogging kick this week, cause I normally post once a week because of my busy schedule, but this week was not that of a hassle because of the cancellation of classes due to the typhoon!

So, I am really into this type of bag right now.

I think they are really easy to carry around and they don't have a zipper closure so you can just pull the string and the bag opens up. In addition, I also like how it looks. They are in style for quite a while now and I would really like to have one.

If I can splurge on something, maybe it would be this Juicy Couture one:

I really like the color, cause it would go with any outfit, and the size is just right--not too small nor too big. I think it would be perfect for school.

What do you think? Do you have drawstring bags? How did you like it?

Thanks for stopping by,
Jenica x

My Twitter Skirt

You can clearly say from my title that I have the love for Twitter recently. I just spend more time on it now than Facebook,  to be honest. I will admit that I thought it was corny at first, so I did not sign up until early this year, I think. Now, it has completely gotten my attention and I think it is really cool. So in honor of my appreciation for Twitter, I got this skirt.

Its a navy blue color with a red orange color at the bottom.  It has button detailing at the front and it has pockets, although those pockets are more for design reasons and not for functionality as it is not that deep. Then, the skirt has birds all over.

I wasn't really looking for a Twitter skirt, I was just out shopping with my friend after watching Captain America which I also did a post on if you want to read it. I went in at Promod because they were on sale. I was looking through the rack when I saw it and I feel that it was meant to be cause it was in  my size! I thought that it was a cute skirt with birds, she thought that it was a Twitter skirt, and I was like yeah it is! The great part about it is that I got it at a 70% discount! How cool is that?

So here is the back part of the skirt.

Have a great Sunday,
Jenica x

Blend With The Trend: Cutout Tops

I know that this has been around for quite a while, but I have been really into this trend and I really wanted to buy at least one for myself. I think this would be really flattering if you have broad shoulders because it would sort of accentuate it. You know what they say, if you've got it, flaunt it!

The striped ones would be so cute with jean shorts and a pair of sandals. You can typically wear this one out to the mall, or if you are just hanging with your friends. I especially like the floral dress at the bottom which could be perfect for lunch dates or simply if you like dresses in general. I can't wait to buy one of these!

You Can Make It Through The Rain

I saw this picture of Katy Perry on People StyleWatch and thought umbrellas can be fun too. So I like to share some of the things I saw while looking for fun umbrellas to use in this rainy weather.

DESIGNER UMBRELLAS
Seriously, who would even use this in public when it has the whopping price tag that could buy an island? (I was kidding.)

Burberry Umbrella- $150 saksfifthavenue.com
When you see this pattern, you can always tell that its Burberry.

Hermes Umbrella-$460  usa.hermes.com
This is just a plain old red one. I still can't believe its price.

Cath Kidston -£28 johnlewis.com
I love Cath Kidston's designs and this umbrella is so cute!

Kate Spade-$75 katespade.com
Kate Spade is one of my favorite designers(although I haven't bought anything from the brand) because I think that her designs suit my style.

CUTE UMBRELLAS

yummy
for the postman
you'll never get lost

I'd love to have these cute umbrellas as I have a boring checkered one.
